Coffee Notes is a simple, good-looking journal for the coffee you drink: photograph a bag, let it read the label, and log every brew with your method, ratings, and notes. Here’s how to get going, and how to reach a human if you’re stuck.

Getting started

Log a new bag — tap “Log a new bag,” snap a photo of the bag, and Coffee Notes reads the label and fills in the details for you. Adjust the crop and edit anything before you save.
Log a brew — open a bag and log how you made it: method, dose, time (there’s a built-in timer), and a rating. In a hurry? Long-hold a brew method to log a cup without a full review — it still counts toward your totals.
Build your shelf — every bag you add joins your collection, and your Recap tallies your cups, favorite methods, and top roasts over time.
Mugs — keep a little gallery of the mugs you drink from.

Common questions

Does my data sync or back up? Your journal lives on your phone — there’s no account required. Keep that in mind before deleting the app or switching phones.

The label didn’t read correctly. Lighting and angle matter — try a straight, well-lit shot of the front label. You can always edit any field by hand, or skip the photo and type the details in.

Do I need internet? Only the automatic label-reading needs a connection. Logging brews and browsing your journal work offline.
